The attorneys at Meggesto, Crossett & Valerino, LLP are well versed in insurance issues. Not only are we often involved in disputes regarding the applicability of particular portions of liability, auto, disability and life insurance policies, but we are often retained by insurance companies to represent their rights and the rights of their insured, in various proceedings.

A major portion of our work is referred to as subrogation work. In a subrogation matter, the insurance company steps into the shoes of the injured or wronged party and seeks to collect from the offending party, after the proceeds of an insurance policy have been paid. Typically, a subrogation action occurs where one of the participants of an automobile accident is uninsured, or when there is a fire loss caused by a defective product, or negligence of a third party.

The subrogation department, at Meggesto, Crossett & Valerino, LLP, is headed up by Attorney Gary Valerino, who regularly attends national conferences on subrogation issues, and is an approved subrogation counsel for numerous insurance carriers.
